WALTER MOSLEY RUNS BROOKLYN MARATHON
When Walter Mosley first heard about The Balm in Gilead, and the organization’s work fighting HIV/AIDS in Black communities both at home and abroad, he decided to do something to help.
Last year, Mosley approached The Balm with a plan to run the 2003 New York Marathon and raise much-needed funds to support The Balm In Gilead’s work building the capacity of Black churches and faith communities to provide services, HIV/AIDS education and support networks for all people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. After spreading the word to friends and associates about The Balm In Gilead’s mission, he raised nearly $5,000 to donate to The Balm In Gilead.
Mosley continues this tradition of helping The Balm in 2004.
On April 25, Mosley ran the Brooklyn Marathon to raise even more awareness about The Balm In Gilead’s mission and work while also raising more much needed money to keep that work going. We are so proud of, and grateful for, Walter Mosley’s dedication and commitment. He truly embodies the spirit of love and shows us all what a grand difference one man can make. He is back in training for the 2004 New York Marathon, taking place this fall. Our thoughts, prayers and thanks were with Walter Mosley as he ran in Brooklyn for us all.
