The Balm In Gilead rejoices and mourns the passing of our dear brother Rev.
Anthony Hollins.
Rev. Hollins was far more than a colleague; he was a partner and friend of
The Balm In Gilead.
We certainly will miss him in the vineyard of fighting the public health crisis
of HIV/AIDS and NOT people living with the disease.
Recently,
Rev. Hollins participated in The Balm In Gilead’s 2007 Black
Church Institute for HIV and Other Health Disparities in Hilton Head,
SC. As a panelist moderated by Bev Smith, Anthony stated "we all
are living with AIDS," highlighting the empathic compassion
of the Gospel: We rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those
who weep.
The Gospel calls us to mutuality, oneness and the sharing of joys and sorrows.
HIV/AIDS is a community and world-wide health care crisis, requiring a unified
and shared response. Rev. Hollins was a servant leader and mighty warrior of
GOD who exemplified the compassion leadership taught to us through the life
and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Anthony has joined the Balm In Gilead’s Hall of Believers whose smile,
laughter and spirit lives within the fabric of our soul. His legacy lives in
our hearts forever.
On behalf of Board of Directors, staff and founder/CEO Pernessa Seele, we
proclaim the eternal life of Anthony Hollins a true balm in Gilead!
