What is The Black
Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS?
The Black Church Week of Prayer
for the Healing of AIDS is a week-long education and awareness campaign
highlighting the role of the Black Church in addressing the AIDS
crisis. This campaign serves to pave the way for the continuous
delivery of prevention education and services to the African American
community via faith
communities.

How Can Your Church Participate?
During worship, offer a special prayer for
the healing of AIDS -- its impact on our family and community and
throughout the global village.
Work in partnership with a local health care provider to provide
on-site HIV testing after worship and encourage members to get tested.

The Balm In Gilead applauds churches that refuse to use stigma as a
means of ignoring HIV/AIDS and excusing away the responsibility we must
take for our
brothers and sisters.
