The Black Church HIV/AIDS Training Institute will
build your capacity to establish HIV/AIDS education, prevention and care services
in your church and community. The Institute will help you strengthen HIV ministries
that are already in place by providing skills development in incorporating HIV
education into existing Christian education structures and auxiliary ministries.
Further, the Institute will offer basic level guidance in grant writing for church
HIV/AIDS programs.
Who Should Attend?
The Black Church HIV/AIDS Training Institute is for members of Black churches.
This training is designed to build the skill capacity of pastors, Christian educators,
pastoral counselors, deacons, missionaries, representatives of health ministries,
nursing units, and others holding key positions in the Black church community
to address HIV/AIDS. Only these people should attend.
The Black church has long been a source of mobilization, assurance and hope
for Black folks when faced with obstacles. The Black Church HIV/AIDS Training
Institute will provide the skills, support and encouragement that our church officials
need to tackle the AIDS epidemic in communities here at home and in our global
village.
