Welcome to HealthShare!
Congregational Health Advisor
Greetings,
We welcome you to The Balm In Gilead's on-line health community, HealthShare.
We are an interactive, faith and health-focused website designed to be a sharing community of health resources for congregations.
Here at HealthShare, we invite you to share stories of your faith and how your faith beliefs empower your life. HealthShare is your opportunity to share your successes and failures that have shaped your health journey. Your "failure" may be a motivation to others. They will know they are not alone trying to improve the well-being of their body, the temple of God.
We invite you to tell stories of how your congregation is working to become healthier. Tell us your stories of reaching the community through health screenings, workshops, and clinics. We welcome your congregational and personal stories.
We will bring to you resources that will support your goal of optimum and abundant health for your family, congregation, and community.
We believe that God intends that we should prosper and be in good health even as our soul prospers. The Balm In Gilead desires to walk the path with you. HealthShare is our "Walking Path."
HealthShare will bring you:
- On-line trainings on developing and strengthening a health ministry
- Webinars with health experts and theologians on topics related to a healthy body and soul.
- A weekly commentary-- HealthShare: Your Weekly Blog! We invite you to share your thoughts on our blog.
- HealthShare "Voices"! We will host discussions for key health areas that include obesity, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, exercise and nutrition, cancer, relationships, caregiver support, chronic illness, etc.
- Congregational Resources: Assessments, questionnaires to determine your congregational needs, and sample bulletin inserts
- Healthy Recipes - We invite you to send your favorite healthy recipes. (You can even send the "light" version of Grandma's corn pudding-no bacon grease!)
HealthShare is your community for knowledge, encouragement and faith for a healthy life. We will talk to each other. We will share our health stories and our faith. We will grow together in health and wholeness.
May you live in abundant well-being,
Rev. Hilda R. Davis-Carroll, Ph.D., L.P.C.
