Balm In Gilead Founder and CEO Receives Honorary Degree
The
College of New Rochelle conferred an honorary degree to Balm In Gilead Founder
and CEO Pernessa C. Seele during its 100th Commencement Exercises Thursday,
May 24, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. In
addition, the College conferred honorary degrees on Brother Rick Curry, S.J.,
Ph.D., Founder & Artistic Director of the National Theatre Workshop of
the Handicapped and John Sweeney, President of the AFL-CIO.

About The Balm In Gilead
The Balm In Gilead is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization
whose mission is to improve the health status of people of the
African Diaspora by building the capacity of faith communities
to address life-threatening diseases, especially HIV/AIDS. For
18 years, The Balm In Gilead has mobilized The Black Church Week
of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS, which engages Black churches
to become centers for education, compassion and care in the fight
against HIV/AIDS.
