CELEBRATING 15 YEARS: Famed actress Lynn Whitfield (l) congratulates The Balm In Gilead CEO and Founder Pernessa Seele (c) and Board Chair Erline Belton on 15 years of service during a gala at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City.

The Balm In Gilead, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization with an international mission to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS throughout the African Diaspora. Whitfield hosted the event, which was attended by many notables including Congressman Charles Rangel, Star Jones of "The View," and ex-New York City Mayor David Dinkins. Songstylist Nancy Wilson was the featured performer of the event.
