The Fight Against AIDS
An American Delegation in Ivory Coast

An American delegation representing an organization involved in the world's
fight against AIDS arrived in Ivory Coast last Weekend. The organization - The
Balm In Gilead specializes in the fight against AIDS in Black communities in America
and Africa.
From April 8 to April 11, "The Balm In Gilead" will be in Ivory Coast
to establish partnerships for the fight against AIDS with the churches of our
country - the catholic and Pentecostal churches as well as any other religious
group.
The Balm In Gilead's faith-based project in Africa is called: "Africa
HIV/AIDS Faith Initiative" The goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity
of religious organizations in Africa so they can become important actors involved
in the prevention of AIDS, community service and end the stigma of AIDS.
The Balm In Gilead is a nonprofit organization whose international mission
is to help stop the spread of HIV, the AIDS virus in the African Diaspora, by
strengthening communities capacity to educate about the HIV virus and support
community services for people affected or infected by HIV/AIDS.
The Balm In Gilead became an International organization when it extended its
program to Africa.
After Ivory Coast, The Non Governmental Organization will be visiting Kenya,
Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
