Events Set to Mark AIDS Week of Prayer

A community-wide prayer breakfast for the healing of AIDS will be
held at 8:30 a.m. today at Salem Baptist Church, 500 E. Park Ave.,
Champaign. The event is in conjunction with the 12th Annual Black
Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS, which begins Sunday,
March 4.
A gospel fest of community choirs and singers will take place at
3 p.m., Sunday at Alpha and Omega Church of God in Christ, 400 W.
Bradley, Champaign.
The week is sponsored by The Balm in Gilead, Inc. a national organization
that helps black churches and organizations to become community
centers for AIDS education and compassion. The Balm in Gilead can
